Our Minister

Rev. Amanda Schuber

Rev. Amanda Schuber joined High Street in August of 2022 as our Developmental Minister. She earned her undergraduate degree with a focus on oppression, the nature of power and grassroots movements from the University of Alabama, and she graduated with an M.Div from Starr King School for the Ministry in Berkley, California.  She has served in numerous capacities throughout the UU world, including as Director of Religious Education, and as a Board member for EqUUal Access and Interweave.   Additionally, she has worked for the UUA in Boston in the Office of Congregational Fundraising. She is a dedicated advocate for disability rights, especially the recognition and support of those living with mental health struggles.

Rev. Amanda comes to Georgia from Huntsville, AL where she served for 12 years as the Family Services Program Manager for Habitat for Humanity of the River Valley.  She is passionate about economic justice and examining our hidden biases.  Her work with the UUA Beyond Categorical Thinking program has taken her to over 50 UU congregations across the United States.  Rev, Amanda believes strongly in the power of community to support each other and create positive change in the world.
